Invitation
Dear Knot at Lunch People,
We will have our next lunch on Thursday November 6, at the (hopefully temporary) usual place, the seminar room on the 10th floor of 215 Huron St., at 12 noon.
As always, please bring brown-bag lunch and fresh ideas. If nobody will come up with a better subject, I may say something about the relationship between subdiagram formulas and "local" formulas for universal finite type invariants.
If technology will not fail us, we will have a special guest - Fionntan will be joining us over Skype from Pisa. Sorry, Fionntan, I suppose you will have to eat two lunches on Thursday.
Further information about this Knot at Lunch meeting may be posted later at https://drorbn.net/drorbn?title=Knot_at_Lunch_on_November_6_2008.
As always, if you know anyone I should add to this mailing list or if you wish to be removed from this mailing list please let me know. To prevent junk accumulation in mailboxes, I will actively remove inactive people unless they request otherwise.
Best,
Dror.
More on the Agenda
We'll have a technology intensive day today! Fionntan will be joining us on Skype, and I'll probably also use a computer screen projector. As for the content, I'd like to talk about
- Our Future Agendas Queue.
- A certain "map of the field", shown at my Northeastern talk.
- Some GPV asides as in my 2008-11 notes.
- The mathematics of browsing a handout, possibly the hardest real life math I've even encountered.
- The universe is but one big image.
