Indeed there was a mistake in my formulas - the definition of L.  The
seond beta should be
beta(d,b), not beta (d,e), and
the thrid beta should be
beta(b,d) f(e)
not beta(e,d)f(b)
or whatever I said earlier.  The other stuff is right.
