I landed in Bucharest at 1am, got to bed at 3am, woke up at 5am, started riding south at 6am, crossed in to Bulgaria at 10:45am, wandered around Ruse a bit and got to the train station by 1pm, well in time for the 2:15pm train. But then the train was delayed more than an hour, and took a ridiculously long route going most of the way at 50km/h, and took two very long stops for passport control, and I only got home at around 8:30pm. The train ride counting stops and delays took about the same as the bike ride!
98.5km, with about 400m of ascents and descents, on a very hot day. The views, actually, were a bit plain. I saw no one swimming in the Danube and decided that it's probably better that I'd avoid that too. My first time in both Romania and Bulgaria!
