Seeing that Winter is Coming and very soon it will be impossible to paddle, and seeing that the forecast was for a rainy day (bad for hiking and biking, irrelevant for a wet activity), I decided to paddle some more along the Credit River - from just a bit north of the 407 to where I started last week. In between I bought a waterproof camera, so I have more pictures than last time. But even now, every stop for a photo meant losing my heading in the fast-moving water, so I couldn't take too many.
This time I left my bike (with a cart for Karolina, the kayak) at the ending point, drove to the start, paddled about 15km to the end, folded Karolina and loaded her on the cart, and biked back to the car. Biking with a heavy cart is weird! My first time.
It seems that most of the salmon that were swimming furiously upstream a week ago are now dead and floating leisurely downstream (no pictures - it's not a pretty sight). I did see a few live salmon, and even a couple jumping up a waterfall, but my timing was wrong and I didn't catch them in pixels.
The water was fast for much of the way but only got choppy in the last 2-3km. I was soaked anyway.
15km paddling, 11km biking.
