My 19th ride in 2020, and the first in which the misery was more than the fun (there's always a bit of both).
- I picked a starting point, Kinmount, which is too far. So I spent a lot of time in the car, and missed the best riding hours (the early morning).
- I got on two long unpaved roads. One was flat but very sandy so I could only go very slowly in a very low gear. The other was part gravel part rocky. Again, slow and painful and exhausting.
- The milk shake in Haliburton didn't agree with me, but I discovered it only an hour later. If I was Assaf I would have solved it cleanly and elegantly. If I was Paula Radcliffe, I would have solved it in a spectacular manner. But I'm more complicated so I suffered. The last half hour of the drive back home was hell.
Oh well, I hope next time will be better.
