Good point. No, apart from a few appeals that did not change much to the picture overall, the marks were not adjusted. But many students who got low grades in the term test dropped out of class, and their records were dropped too. --[[User:Drorbn|Drorbn]] 18:33, 19 December 2006 (EST)

Q: Where can I find my marks?

A: I have no idea. How do you usually get your marks? I've reported the marks to the university and they process them in the routine way, whatever that may be. --[[User:Drorbn|Drorbn]] 19:16, 19 December 2006 (EST)

R: OK, it seems they haven't processed them yet. At least, mine is blank on RoSI as of today - December 19, 2006.

R: My Algebra mark is up, as of today (Dec 21).

I wanted to ask this in class, but we ran out of time:
Could you (, Professor,) give us an overview of "what we can expect" if we continue to study Algebra, or pure math in general? When I read the course descriptions, I usually only recognize a fifth of the words, so they aren't exactly enlightening: MAT 247 is "A theoretical approach to real and complex inner product spaces, isometries, orthogonal and unitary matricies and transformations. The adjoint Hermitian and symmetric transformations..." and so on.

Also at the beginning of the course, you advertised that linear algebra is the small scale basis of everything; now that we have taken the course, can you expand/defend that view? (I am not challenging it; there are many ways that are already apparently; nevertheless I think you probably have a clearer perspective).

These are obviously not time-sensitive questions, so answer (if at all) at your leisure.

When will information about the exam be made available?

Perhaps these questions cannot be answered at this time, but I will ask them anyways:
Will the exam include material from the term test?
And in general, will the focus be on computation or theory? Maybe this is a silly question because 240 is a theory course, but a lot of the proofs we have done are either not entirely rigorous or just very tedious (i.e. many steps are finding the right way to write something out).

Note: Since I asked this question, we have returned mostly to doing "full" proofs. The proofs I previously referred to are the ones involving matrices.
