About 88km on a hot and sunny day. I started at first light, a bit before 5am, and finished at around 10:30am, to avoid the worst of the heat. I caught glimpses of the Great Wall in several places, yet I avoided the detour into Mutianyu - the classical segment of the wall near Beijing. It's Beijing's Niagara Falls - seeing it once is great (and I did, years ago). It's also enough. An amusing observation: They seem to like Dutch windmills here. I saw a number of look alikes.
